Eye Exercises  ⁄  Myopia and Binocular Vision Development, part 2

With myopia (nearsightedness), because of low visual acuity, the ability to fix both eyes on the target is often defective. The point of intersection of the visual axes is called the point of binocular fixation or bifixation.  The point of bifixation must be located on the visual object in order to create the fusion of visual images, which is known as binocular vision. But a lot of people use only one eye to create a picture, which is called monocular vision. This person doesn’t notice the difference because monocular vision can provide a good picture too. If you develop binocular vision, though, it will give you 20% growth of your visual acuity, and you will develop proper visual skills such as three-dimensional vision and depth estimation. These skills will help you cope with the more complex exercises of the dynamic fixation method.

… Then train your sight on your forefinger. If your eyes take part in the visual act equally, you will see two images of the target on the left and on the right of your forefinger.

The brightness of both images will be the same. If you see only one image of the target, or if you see two but one of them is dimmer than the other, you should work on your eyes.

The right-eye dominant vision at the picture below:

The left-eye dominant vision at the picture below:

Close the right and the left eyes in turn. You will see that when looking with the right eye, the image of the target is on the right of your forefinger. And when looking with left eye, the image of the target is on the left of your forefinger. Try to look at the forefinger with your left and right eyes in turn to activate the weak eye. Then the brightness of both images of the target will be equal.

By doing these exercises, you will cause both eyes to take part in the visual act equally. This is the basis of binocular vision.

Take care of your eyes. Get rid of myopia the natural way.
